Scope
This specification covers type TW/THW/THW-2 cable with soft annealed copper solid or stranded conductor and PVC insulation, conforming to Standard 83 of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. They meet the requirements of the VW-1 flame test and oil resistant. UL file No. E210924.
Application
Type TW/THW/THW-2 are intended for general purpose applications utilized in conduit or other raceways for services, feeders and branch-circuit wiring as specified in the National Electric Code (NEC). TW is rated at a conductor temperature of 60℃ dry or wet, THW is rated at a conductor temperature of 75℃ dry or wet, THW-2 is rated at a conductor temperature of 90℃ dry or wet. They are permitted for 600V application.
Construction
Conductors: Soft annealed copper, bare or tinned.
Sizes 14AWG-2000kcmil: Solid or stranded.
Insulation: Flame retardant PVC. Thickness: per UL83.
Information on the cable: AWG or kcmil size, type letters, rated voltage, the name of the manufacturer, UL file number, characteristic, manufacture date, FEET.
